When Orders Leave Our Stellenbosch Packing Room
Orders are packed in Stellenbosch Central and handed to our courier partner on set dispatch days during the week. If your order is placed before the daily cut-off on a dispatch day, it is usually prepared for collection the same day. Orders placed after cut-off, over weekends or on public holidays move to the next working dispatch day, so timing can shift by a day or two.
We work on a practical schedule because tea needs to be packed properly and labels checked before it goes out. During busy periods such as month-end, promotions or the run-up to gifting seasons, please allow extra time for picking and packing. A small delay at dispatch is better than a parcel arriving with loose tins or damaged pouches.
Which Areas We Deliver To Nationwide
We courier across South Africa, including Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban and Bloemfontein, as well as Stellenbosch, Somerset West and Paarl in the Western Cape. If you are in a metro, a smaller town or an outlying suburb, delivery usually still goes through, but the transit time may vary depending on the route and local handover point.
- Western Cape: Stellenbosch, Cape Town, Somerset West, Paarl and nearby areas
- Gauteng: Johannesburg and Pretoria
- KwaZulu-Natal: Durban and surrounding suburbs
- Free State: Bloemfontein
If your address is in a gated estate, office park or farm area, add clear access notes at checkout. This helps the courier avoid a second trip, which can happen when security counters or boom gates are not ready for a delivery van.
How Long Courier Delivery Usually Takes
Standard courier time is usually 1 to 3 working days for major centres after dispatch, and 2 to 5 working days for more distant or outlying areas. Remote addresses, high-volume periods and weather interruptions can extend that slightly. Coastal humidity, load-shedding delays at courier depots and municipal traffic disruptions can also affect collection and handover times.
If you are ordering for an event, a gift drop or a hospitality restock, build in a buffer of at least a few extra days. That gives you room if the parcel sits overnight at the depot or if a road closure slows the route. It is always safer to receive your tea a bit early than to be waiting on the day you need it.
How To Track Your Parcel Step By Step
Once your parcel has been dispatched, you will receive tracking details through the contact method used on your order. From there, you can follow the parcel as it moves from our Stellenbosch base to the main courier network and then to your local delivery area. Tracking updates are usually enough to show whether the parcel is in transit, out for delivery or ready for collection at a depot.
- Open your tracking details once you receive them
- Check the latest movement update and estimated delivery day
- Watch for an out for delivery scan if you are expecting delivery that day
- Keep your phone nearby in case the driver needs access notes or a quick confirmation
If the status has not changed for a full working day, wait a little longer before logging a query, since some depots update scans in batches and not in real time.
What To Do If A Parcel Is Delayed Or Missed
If your parcel is late, first check the tracking record and confirm the delivery address and access details. A missing unit number, wrong suburb or an incomplete estate name can hold up a courier even when the parcel has already reached your city. In some cases, the driver may have tried once and left a notice or updated the status without a direct handover.
If the delay continues, send a query through our contact page with your order details and the tracking reference. We will review the dispatch note and courier scan history, then advise the next step. Please do not rely on informal delivery instructions sent to a driver after the parcel has left, because that can cause confusion and extra handling.
- Check the tracking status first
- Confirm your full address, suburb and postal code
- Look for access instructions that may have been missed
- Send a support query if the parcel is stuck or returned
Receiving Tea Safely In Warm Or Humid Conditions
Tea is packed to travel well, but heat and humidity can affect outer packaging if a parcel sits in transit too long. For that reason, we advise receiving parcels as soon as they are delivered or collecting them promptly if they are held at a depot. Rooibos and herbal infusions keep well when stored in a cool dry cupboard away from sunlight and strong kitchen odours.
If you are sending tea as a corporate gift, wedding favour or hospitality order, let us know the delivery timing in advance so we can plan the dispatch window properly. A little planning goes a long way when the parcel needs to arrive fresh and neat, not squashed under heavier boxes.
